Where our wheels go

We donate bikes to people in need in the UK and overseas via a network of partner organisations. We have worked with some organisations for a a number of years and others have only been involved more recently. We know that a quality refurbished bike can make a real difference to the individuals who receive them and are always happy to hear from new organisations who work with people who would benefit from access to a bike. If you work for an organisation that would like some refurbished bikes then please send us some details to request a donation of bikes.

Fundraiser Touring European Stone Age sites, by MCF bike!

I have been riding MCF refurbished street bikes for several years. I love the fact that the restoration of the 80s vintage cycles I am interested in has given offenders the chance to gain useful and transferable skills which they can use when they complete their sentences. The MCF concept of recycling bikes which may otherwise end as waste whilst simultaneously training interested people is my main reason for my support...plus some of the bikes MCF refit are beautiful!

  • What we do

    What we do

Margaret Carey Foundation (MCF) promotes restorative justice in prisons. We set up and support prison workshops that provide trainees with meaningful work. We collect unused and unwanted bicycles and wheelchairs and bring them to the workshops for restoration and recycling. Once refurbished, all the wheelchairs and a proportion of the bikes are donated to people in need in the UK and overseas.
