David Brown, Director

Following David’s retirement from the Probation Service in 1998, he joined the Inside Out Trust as a regional coordinator. He established and managed 30 projects in prisons for IOT, and when the company ceased trading in 2007 he was determined not to let all its good work disappear. In 2008 David began to lay the groundwork to establish the Margaret Carey Foundation, establishing partnerships and securing funding to enable four projects to get up and running and the company to be established with two staff. His ambition for the organisation is to develop its funding base and increase the number and types of projects that are undertaken in prisons and in the community.

David’s interests include football (playing and watching), running, singing in two local choral groups and acting as road manager for the Irish band the Wildgeese. He is married to Susan and they have three sons and five grandchildren.
